The Minnesota Pharmacists Foundation collaborates with the profession of pharmacy to create and deliver programs that enrich public health and further the profession of pharmacy in the state of Minnesota.

In 2008, MPF founded the AWARxE program to educate teens about the dangers of prescription and over-the-counter drug misuse and abuse. AWARxE was created in response to the heartbreaking story of Justin Pearson, who tragically died in his father’s arms on Christmas Day in 2006 after discovering the ease and accessibility of self-prescribing medications through illegal websites. Today, AWARxE is educating consumers on medication misuse and abuse at a national level, and MPF continues to administer AWARxE in Minnesota, reaching over 10,000 teens with the help of University of Minnesota student pharmacists, who provide educational presentations to middle and high school students throughout Minnesota.

With the support of partner organizations and volunteers, MPF supports education programs that respond to the needs of the pharmacy community of Minnesota. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact info@mnpharmacists.org for more information or make a donation to help fund MPF programs.
